Better Government Lab
Oliver James, Professor of Political Science, University of Exeter (UK), is a visiting fellow at the Better Government Lab. He conducts research on topics in public policy and public administration, especially: citizen-state relations, policy evaluation, digital technologies in policy and public services, and government accountability. His research applies behavioural science theories, particularly using experiments as a method, and he collaborates with a range of public organisations. At Exeter, he leads the MSc Public Policy programme. Current research focuses on citizens’ expectations and experiences with digital public service provision and the role of public performance information in government accountability.
