Rachael Zuppke is a research assistant with the Better Government Lab and is pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Michigan School of Information, focused on human-centered design. She has a background in public interest law, having worked as a paralegal to help low-income individuals in Michigan maintain public benefits, including food assistance, health insurance, and disability benefits. Her current research focuses on the experience of self-represented litigants in civil court procedures and the impact of human-centered design on reducing administrative burdens in court systems.
